Do you feel stuck in some way?
When something in your life no longer feels quite aligned
Sometimes there isn't one obvious thing wrong.
You may have a job that pays the bills but no longer gives you much joy. Perhaps your heart simply isn't in it anymore.
You might feel as though you are constantly moving from one task to the next - work, home, responsibilities, emails, things that need sorting - and occasionally find yourself wondering, is this really how I want life to feel?
Or perhaps there is a quieter sense that something is missing, but you can't quite put your finger on what it is.
You know that something needs to change. You just don't necessarily know what that change looks like yet.
That feeling can actually be a useful place to begin.
When something feels out of alignment
We are very good at carrying on.
There is always something that needs doing, and it is easy to become accustomed to feeling tired, stretched or slightly disconnected from ourselves without really noticing when it began.
Sometimes our body gives us clues. Sometimes it is our emotions. Sometimes we simply lose enthusiasm for things that once felt meaningful.
And sometimes there is a deeper sense that the life we are living no longer quite reflects who we are becoming.
For me, this is where a holistic approach becomes particularly valuable.
Rather than looking only at the problem we can see on the surface, we can become curious about the whole person - mind, body, emotions, energy and that deeper sense of self or soul.
What is asking for attention?
What feels out of balance?
What have you perhaps outgrown?
And what would feeling more like yourself actually look like?
Change isn't always about trying harder
When we want something to change, the conscious mind is often very quick to produce a plan.
Get up earlier.
Exercise more.
Eat differently.
Meditate every day.
Become more organised.
Start the new project.
And sometimes those things are exactly what we need.
But most of us have also experienced starting something with great enthusiasm and finding, a few days or weeks later, that we have quietly returned to our old patterns.
That doesn't necessarily mean we lack willpower.
There may simply be another part of us that hasn't come along with the plan.
Our conscious intention might be saying yes, while something at an unconscious, emotional, energetic or bodily level is saying not yet, I'm not sure, or even this isn't actually what I need.
I find that much more interesting than trying to force ourselves through resistance.
Rather than fighting it, we can listen to it.
Bringing the different parts of you into conversation
Much of my Holistic Guidance work is about helping someone explore what is happening across these different levels.
There may be a belief or old pattern operating beneath conscious awareness.
There may be an emotional response that hasn't yet been fully acknowledged.
The body may be communicating something in its own way.
Or you may simply have become disconnected from your intuition and the quieter inner knowing that tells you what feels right for you.
I use a range of approaches depending on the person and what we are exploring, including conversation, NLP, IFS-informed work, IEMT, EFT, dowsing and subtle-energy awareness.
There isn't one formula that everyone has to fit into.
The interesting part is discovering what is true for you.
Reconnecting with who you really are
I am particularly interested in those moments when somebody begins to reconnect with a part of themselves that has become buried beneath everything they have had to do.
Perhaps there is creativity that hasn't had enough room.
A direction you have been quietly drawn towards.
Something you know you need to let go of.
Or simply a way of living that feels calmer, clearer and more authentic.
People sometimes talk about finding their soul purpose, and I think that can sound as though there must be one enormous mission we are supposed to discover.
I experience it more fluidly than that.
Our purpose may express itself differently at different stages of our lives. What matters is that there is a sense of connection between who we are, what we value and the way we are actually living.
When those begin to come back into alignment, there can be a wonderful sense of recognition:
Ah. This feels more like me.
You don't have to know the answer before you begin
You don't need to arrive knowing exactly what you want to change.
Sometimes “something doesn't feel quite right” is enough.
We can start there.
We can become curious about what your conscious mind is saying, what may be happening underneath it, what your body and energy are communicating and what your own inner knowing is trying to bring into awareness.
The aim isn't to turn you into some perfect, permanently motivated version of yourself.
It is much simpler than that.
To help you hear yourself more clearly.
To recognise what feels aligned.
And to support you in making changes that genuinely feel like your own.
